Carberry & Area Community Foundation and RBC Foundation Announce Grant of $15,000 to Local Youth Group

Carberry & Area Community Foundation and RBC Foundation are providing a grant of $15,000 to support an inclusive celebration in our community! The official announcement will be made on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 7:00PM at Links on Main.

“It’s so exciting to get the support to help bring our entire community together to unite in celebration. Our group is looking forward to seeing our ideas come to fruition. Thank you, Carberry & Area Community Foundation and RBC Foundation, for recognizing the impact young leaders can make,” says Matthew Salyn, youth leader from Carberry Collegiate.

As a part of the RBC Future Launch Community Challenge, grants like this one are being made to youth-led projects in 150 small and medium sized communities across Canada. The goal of the program is to shift the power to young leaders making positive social or environmental change in their communities, while gaining valuable skills and experience.

“Young people are not future leaders — they are leading social and environmental change right now. We are honoured to play a role in the bold change that youth are leading across the country through this national initiative with RBC,” says Andrew Chunilall, CEO of Community Foundations of Canada.
The event features remarks by a representative from RBC, and an opportunity to hear about the new youth-led project. Following this presentation, attendees are invited to take part in a World Café-style Vital Conversation. The evening will close with presentations to all of Carberry & Area Community Foundation’s 2019 grant recipients. Refreshments will be provided to all in attendance.

“RBC is committed to the power, vision and potential of youth, and the important role they play in their communities,” says Richard Rapisarda, RBC Community Manager. “We are thrilled to see the results of this important partnership with the CFC helping make a difference in communities across Canada.”

The Carberry and Area Community Foundation aims to preserve and enhance the quality of life in Carberry & Area, providing grants and scholarships to worthy recipients. Participating in the RBC Future Launch Community Challenge builds on the community foundation’s long-time support to local youth and youth leadership.

The RBC Future Launch Community Challenge is hosted by Community Foundations of Canada and participating community foundations, and is made possible thanks to a $5M donation from RBC Foundation. It is part of RBC Future Launch, a commitment by RBC and the RBC Foundation to empower Canadian youth for the jobs of tomorrow. Over the next 10 years, RBC Future Launch is dedicating $500 million to help young people access meaningful employment through practical work experience, skills development opportunities, networking solutions and mental well-being supports and services.
